Production parts are parts directly manufacturered using "additive" processes like rapid prototyping systems, or "subtractive" technologies (machining processes) - such as the mills or engraving systems offered by CadBlu. Another related application is use of a pattern produced from 3D printers (see Solidscape and 3D Systems' printers below) to produce a casting pattern for investment casting to produce cast jewelry parts.
