X-Wax Castable Resins

The ideal castable resin depends on your printing technology and casting metal requirements. Formulations like JCAST-GRN 10 are developed specifically for DLP systems such as Figure 4, while wax materials are optimized for MultiJet Printing. Look for resins that offer smooth surface finish, high feature definition, and clean residue-free burnout with standard jewelry investment materials.

Resin hardness varies across polymer chemistries and post-curing requirements. Castable materials must balance sufficient green strength for handling and post-processing with clean burnout characteristics during burnout. Highly structured DLP and SLA castable resins offer rigid dimensional stability to prevent deformation of delicate filigree patterns or dental frameworks before investment casting.

Castable materials are available for multiple digital additive platforms, including Digital Light Processing (DLP), Stereolithography (SLA), and MultiJet Printing (MJP). Compatibility depends on machine wavelength, light source, and material delivery systems. Always verify printer compatibility, such as NextDent 5100 or Figure 4 systems, prior to selecting castable formulations.

High-quality castable resins, such as NextDent Cast, are specifically formulated for easy burnout with residue-free results. Clean combustion prevents surface defects, porosity, or inclusions in the final metal cast. Following the recommended burnout schedule and using compatible investment materials is critical to achieving clean mold cavities and high-yield metal casting.
